(54.6 by 74.9cm) Johannes Hendrik Eversen was a Dutch painter renowned for his masterful still life paintings. Born in The Hague, he initially studied portraiture before attending London’s Heatherley School of Fine Art in 1930. There, inspired by 17th-century Dutch Old Masters, he pivoted his style to focus on classical still lifes. Eversen became celebrated for his extraordinary ability to paint light, shadow, and realistic textures, including gleaming pewter, delicate glass, and rustic earthenware.
