(136.5 by 161.3cm) Paul Hallahan is an Irish contemporary artist based at Fire Station Artists’ Studios in Dublin, whose practice centres on painting while also incorporating sculpture and video. His atmospheric, layered works explore themes of nature, perception, and the shifting relationship between humanity and the natural world, inviting quiet reflection and sustained attention. ”This work began with a colour slide photograph taken by a family member during the SecondWorldWar, focusing on an image of an animal that felt entirely timeless and untouched by human influence. Through the slow process of painting, the reference dissolved, allowing the work to find its own presence and form., now translated with new materials into this beautiful rug.” €2,500-€3,500 (£2,140-£2,990 approx.)
