(129.5 by 154.9cm) Born in Armagh in 1941, John B. Vallely studied at the Belfast Art College before attending Edinburgh College of Art. He travelled to Spain and Morocco before returning to Armagh where he founded the Armagh Piper Club in 1966. Musicians feature heavily in his paintings. Eight of his works were chosen to represent the Irish pavilion at the New York World Fair in 1963. His works are included in the Ulster Museum, Belfast and the Hugh Lane among other public and private collections. €15,000-€20,000 (£12,820-£17,090 approx.)
