(90.8 by 74.9cm) Frame Size: 41.5 by 35.5in. (105.4 by 90.2cm) Depicts Collins in National Army general’s uniform, circa 1922. Séamus O Colmáin was born in Dublin in 1925. He attended the National College of Art and Design in Dublin in addition to studying in Paris for a period. O Colmáin was a streetscape and portrait painter who focused particularly on everyday scenes of Dublin life. He also worked for a time as a remedial art teacher. Séamus O Colmáin had several successful exhibitions at David Hendriks Gallery, Ritchie Hendriks Gallery, Oriel Gallery and Lincoln Gallery. He also participated in numerous RHA Annual Exhibitions, Oireachtas and Irish Exhibitions of Living Art. His work is included in the collections of the Arts Council of Ireland, Queen’s University, Belfast andWaterford Municipal Art Gallery. €1,000-€1,500 (£860-£1,290 approx.)
