Cairo from the English author, of Irish descent, creator

of Sherlock Holmes. I enclose cheque for account. In

response to your note I should be sorry to do you any

injustice, but (whoever’s fault it may be) I have certainly

had a great deal to complain of.” Signed in black ink “A
