In the summer of 1947 Dillon was invited to
Italy by Pino Sagliettu, where he stayed in his
family home in Borgotaro in the North. It was
his first visit to mainland Europe and the
Italian way of life fascinated the artist.While
there he visited Florence, Lucca and Parma.
