Waterford City Deputy Lord Lieutenant’s dress and

service uniforms of Claude Anson

The 1908 pattern dress uniform comprising a bicorn hat; a coatee

with silver bullion shamrocks to collar and cuffs; dress trousers with

shamrock lace stripe; a pair of silver bullion epaulettes with shamrock

insignia in original tin; a shamrock lace covered sword belt; also a khaki

field service tunic; service leather sam browne; and a cap with shamrock

badge and silver bullion to the peak; mostly contained in a tin trunk.

Together with a note reputed to have been in the pocket of the service

tunic referring to recruiting for the trenches.
