1916 (22 May and 4 July). Letters to an Irish

Volunteer imprisoned in Britain after the Rising.

Letters to Robert O’Shea at Knutsford and Frongoch from his mother

in 37 Upper Gardiner Street, complete with envelopes bearing censor

markings and scarce emergency postmarks used because of the

destruction of the GPO. The prisoner has noted on reverse of one of the

envelopes Mattress to sleep on 26th May” and “Allowed to speak to each

other 27th May”. (4)”
