Born in England to Irish parents, Kevin Geary has worked primarily as a portrait artist and has exhibited widely
throughout Europe and the USA. During the mid-1970s he lived in Dublin and Waterford and held an early one-man
show at the Setanta Gallery. His portrait of Cyril Cusack was donated by the sitter to the Abbey Theatre, where hangs
another of Geary’s commissions: his portrait of Sean O’Casey. Other examples of his work can be found in the National
Portrait Collection (London), the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and numerous private collection. He now lives in
the United States in Arizona.
