Included in this auction are items from the collections of two great collectors who both had

life-long careers in the music industry and both were pioneers of concert promotion in their

home countries.

After a brief spell as a DJ on Radio Caroline, Pat Egan became Ireland’s first promoter of rock

and pop concerts and worked with many music legends such as Bob Marley, Queen, Eric

Clapton, Thin Lizzy and Van Morrison. He continues to promote concerts and events and is the

founder of Irish Poster Advertising, the gig poster company.

Jordi Tarda promoted rock concerts, including the Rolling Stones, in Barcelona’s bull ring and

hosted Europe’s longest running rock radio show on Catalunya Radio, where he showcased

bands such as AC/DC, The Cult, Iron Maiden and Metallica. He founded the Barcelona

Museum of Rock in the converted bull ring where he once held concerts, using his personal

collection of memorabilia as the core of the exhibition.
