Fr John O’Brien (31) from Donamon, Co Roscommon, was killed in South Korea in September 1950, while stationed on the border
with North Korea at the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950. In 2014 there was some speculation in the media that Fr O'Brien was
to be beatified but to date there has been no beatification
.
