George III Irish brass barrelled blunderbuss.

A late 18th / early 19th century Irish flintlock blunderbuss by Willett of Dublin, the three-stage brass

barrel with ring-turned bell-shaped muzzle on finely figured walnut stock, the lockplate copperplate

engraved ‘Willett’ and top of barrel engraved ‘Willett Dublin’.

The Willett family of gunmakers are recorded as operating from 22, and later 23, Eustace Street, Dublin

from 1781 to 1810. Robert Willett is recorded at Bath Street, Irishtown in 1834-35.
