1970s and 1980s Extensive collection of

autograph signatures of senior religious figures.

An impressive collection of postally collected

autographs, almost all in original envelopes. Pope

John Paul as Cardinal Wojtyla; Pope Benedict as

Cardinal Ratzinger; Envelope addressed by Pope

Paul VI; Cardinal Baggio; circa 100 Cardinals of the

period 1978-82 (most of participants in the 1978

conclaves); 30 future Cardinals (signed as bishops);

213 Archbishops and Bishops (inc. Archbishop

Lefebvre); Orthodox Patriarchs of Constantinople,

Moscow, and Serbia; 3 Archbishops of Canterbury;

The Dalai Lama; Chief Rabbi of Israel; 13 abbots of

major European monasteries, superiors general of

the Jesuits, Dominicans, etc.. The collection also

includes Vatican coins for the Interregnum, John

Paul I, Paul VI; Vatican City State stamps; heraldic

material, letters in Latin, memorial cards of deceased

cardinals. Also a rare booklet: The Methodus

Servanda (order of service) for the opening

ceremony of Vatican II, 11 Oct. 1962. (100s)

1985 (December 16) signed letter from Rev. Ian

Paisley MP.

Typed on House of Commons notepaper, to Mrs S

Kennedy, advising that he had taken up the matter

with the authorities. Signed Ian RK Paisley in blue

ballpoint; together with a typed House of Commons

postcard (19/11/85) from Ian Paisley to Mrs Kennedy

acknowledging her communication.

Joe Pilkington was an Irish actor and artist, who

worked with The Abbey Theatre and was famous

for his television role as Eamon, The Traveller in The

Riordans soap opera.
