Early 19th century porcelain ring dish mounted

on ormolu column.

The column engraved, ‘This ring stand - was in the

possession of - Her Majesty the late Queen Adelaide

- and constantly used by her.’

Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen was the queen consort

of the United Kingdom and of Hanover as spouse of

William IV of the United Kingdom. Adelaide was the

daughter of George I, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen, and

Luise Eleonore of Hohenlohe-Langenburg.
