(35.6 by 40.6 by 40.6cm) Provenance: “Solomon Gallery, Dublin; Where purchased by the present owner” Exhibited: ‘The Secret Garden’ at Iveagh Gardens, Solomon Gallery, Dublin, Ireland, 2008; Patrick Guilbaud’s, Dublin, until 2009 Spanish born Montoya established the first fine art foundry in South Florida, opened a sculpture supply store and developed the Sculpture Department at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach where he taught for many years. Ortiz began working at Montoya’s foundry in 1985. Since 1994 Luis Montoya and Leslie Ortiz have been collaborating and producing unique artworks together as ‘Popliteo’. Their works can be found in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Sculpture, Valladolid, Spain, the Circle of Fine Arts in Madrid, the Tacoma Art Museum in Tacoma, Washington, Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Society of Four Arts in Palm Beach, the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Art in Racine, Wisconsin among other locations internationally.
