50 23 George Russell (“Æ”) (1867-1935) LETTER TO JULY 5, 1935 signed 8.75 by 6.75in. (22.2 by 17.1cm) Provenance: Purchased by James A. Healy of New York City, circa 1935-45. Gifted to Cormac O’Malley, c. 1974 Written from a nursing home in Bournemouth (“c/o Miss Phoebe Myers”) to “Dick” (probably Judge Richard Campbell). Russell is suffering from stomach cancer and writes: “I feel I am coming to the end of my work in this world and I have no fears or regrets” and “goodbye dear Dick.
