Yeats, His Watercolours, Drawings and Pastels, Irish Academic Press, 1993, No. 499, page 131 According to Yeats, Old John was a small farmer, and two other watercolours in the 1904 exhibition at Clausen, Young John and Michael, depicted his sons - from Gaelic American 5 April 1904 and Hilary Pyle Jack B. Yeats, His Watercolours, Drawings and Pastels.
