The letter, in Ashe’s hand in ink and in Irish, on The Garde, Hartford notepaper, but as from New York, to “Stiophan” (Stephen) details amounts raised in US dollars from different locations including Newhaven ($1,000) and Hartford ($500), totalling $3,480.
