120 History 202 1917 (June & July) letters inviting Thomas Ashe to speak at the Feis in Listowel and Skibbereen From“Miceal” on North Kerry Agricultural & Industrial Society mentioning Count Plunkett and Austin Lynch, with cloth Republican colours attached, and Sinn Fein HQ notice that Ashe has been “delegated” to speak at a public meeting on Sunday 26 August, a date he did not make as he had been arrested for sedition on 20 August. Family of Thomas Ashe; Private collection. Condition: Good, heavy folds. It was the series of speeches that Ashe made during the summer of 1917 that led to his arrest for sedition.
