(6) Includes congratulatory letters to Nora Ashe, telegram, printed invitation to “Tom Ashe” to the Mansion House reception on 14 July 1917, with accompanying letter from John MacDonagh, Prisoners of War Reception Committee on Irish National Aid letterhead, telegram from“Kit”, and a complete newspaper - The Liberator, Tralee, 21 1917 reporting the release of prisoners. An important letter, entirely in Collins’ hand, from 10 Harcourt Street, Dublin. Interesting content proposing to sideline Eoin MacNeill and that “we all are in general agreement both on election policy and other things.”The letter confirms Collins and Ashe’s close friendship and their political nous as they plotted success for their candidates against less militant republicans like MacNeill.
