An archive relating to Irish National School Teachers Union (INTO) trips to the USA Includes manuscript notes, correspondence, ephemera, newspaper cuttings and photographs, including meetings with politicians from Congressmen to Presidents. Mostly in scrapbooks, some loose. Apparently compiled by Stephen and Ann Daly. Condition: Mainly fine. The trips, known as Irish Teacher Projects appear to have been subsidised by the US Government and private American benefactors as well as the Irish Government. They were designed to inform teachers of progressive educational methods in the USA, and were influential in modernising Irish education. Some later material includes visits to Ireland by American teachers.
