USSF brass and enamel, U.S.S.F. FOR GOD AND ULSTER legend and red hand centre, four pins reverse; Irish Guards white metal cap badge, pin back. Condition: Very fine. The Ulster Special Services Force comprised members of the Ulster Volunteer Force, most of them veterans of the 1914-1918 WorldWar I. The force was set up to protect against republican raids into Ulster. USSF took over abandoned RIC stations during the War of Independence.
