1860-1881: Shropshire Regiment officer’s waist belt clasp and
Shropshire Rifle Volunteer Corps helmet plate
Two piece, gilt and silvered Shropshire Regiment pre 1881 example of
the 1855 pattern officer’s waist belt clasp. Dimpled centre mounted with
strung bugle, surrounded by “The Shropshire Regiment” and universal
pattern rococo ends. Also with scarce Victorian, circa 1880, 2nd
Shropshire Rifle Volunteer Corps helmet plate. Queen’s crown Maltese
cross with lions, centre with name of the regiment and strung bugle,
three lug reverse. (2 items)

circa 1882-1901: Shropshire Light Infantry officer’s helmet plate and
forage cap badge
Shropshire Light Infantry Queen’s crowned gilt star with laurel wreath.
Centre with strung bugle mounted of black velvet and surrounded by
Garter with motto and name of the regiment within scroll. Three lug
reverse.Also with a Victorian post 1881 King’s Shropshire Light Infantry
Officer’s forage or side cap star pattern badge and smaller matching
collar badge. In the form of an eight point star mounted with internal
circle inscribed “Shropshire” and strung bugle on velvet background.
Both the latter without reverse pins. (3 items)

1882 Khedive’s Star with contemporary unofficial engraved naming on
reverse ‘16429 W.PE. Hutchings R.E.’ Also with an unnamed as issued
1882 Khedive’s Star and a contemporary miniature pair comprising of
Egypt Medal with clasps Suakin 1885, El-Teb-Tamaai, Tel-El-Kebir and an
1882 Khedive’s Star.

19th Century: ‘Rogers’ flintlock blunderbuss with spring bayonet
An excellent flintlock blunderbuss with 14 1/2 inch part octagon brass
barrel and a mechanically fine 11 inch integrated spring loaded bayonet.
Walnut stock with chequered grip, brass butt plate and trigger guard
engraved with floral decoration and steel lockplate marked ‘Rogers’.
Complete with wooden ramrod. A fine example

19th Century: Double barrel percussion pistols
Two 19th Century double barrel percussion cap pistols. The first with 11”
barrels and trigger guard with foliate design. The second missing many
parts including trigger guard. No discernible maker’s marks on either,
both without ramrods and in need of attention. Also with a decorated
single barrel percussion pistol with no discernible markings and an
unusual 19th Century Peruvian riding crop, with white metal top and
chain decorated with an 1865 Peru Un Sol coin. (4 items)

A percussion carbine with 16” barrel. lockplate with crown and ‘Tower’
markings. Brass trigger guard and butt plate and with ramrod.

c. 1850: British Lancashire Militia Officers Sword and Court Sword
A British Victorian Infantry Officers Sword with brass gothic hilt with
folding sideguard and Royal cypher, leather and wire grip. Proof mark
‘WB’. Curved fullered blade with decoration including owner’s name “J.
Bayly Esq. 3rd Royal Lancashire Militia’. Also with Victorian court sword
with épée blade, decorative grip and gold wire sword knot. Attributed to
Bayly originally from New Inn near Ballinasloe, Galway. (2 items)

circa 1885: South African shotgun by J.F. King of Durban
An excellent and scarce later 19th Century South African double
barrelled percussion 12 bore sporting shotgun. The barrel engraved with
maker’s mark “J. F. King. Gunmaker, Durban” Walnut stock with
chequered grip. With an interesting provenance showing that the gun
was originally purchased by Daniel Nielsen of Norway who emigrated to
Natal in 1860 where he worked for the Norwegian Missionary Society.
The gun was kept in the same house until 1977 when the home was
destroyed by fire. The gun being one of the few items to survive, doing
so in remarkable condition. With accompanying paperwork including a
Mercury Reporter newspaper article relating to the arson incident and
mentioning the gun.

examples from Dublin Fire Brigade, The King’s Hospital Oxmantown,
Royal College of Surgeons Dublin, Millar & Co. Thomas St. Dublin,
Imperial Hotel etc. Also with enamel pin back badges of the National
Federation of Women Workers, British Red Cross Society and Royal

Colonel Lord Meath
Framed original watercolour and ink drawing signed lower right ‘Sadler’.
Depicting members of the Dublin County Militia and band being
inspected by their Colonel, William Brabazon. Appears to be part of a
series of drawings one of which is held by the National Library of Ireland
and attributed by them to William Sadler. 7 x 10in. (17.78 x 25.40cm)
