circa 1970: Samuel Beckett unique signed sheet of ‘Ping’
A once off typed sheet of the first page of the short story “Ping” which
was first published in 1967. In 1969 Marguerite Cohn who owned The
House of Books bookshop proposed to Beckett that she publish the first
page from some of his plays as a single manuscript sheet, with each to
be signed by Beckett, such as this example. Framed 9 x 6½in. (23 x

A large collection of mixed books from the library of the English-born
Irish actor and theatrical producer Hilton Edwards. All signed or initialled
and dated on the title page and some with personal notes and
dedications including one example dated 1959 from Micheál Mac
Liammóir “For dear Hilton”. Together with an auction catalogue for the
Edwards Mac Liammóir Collection Auction. (29 items)

Album of performers at Dublin’s ‘Capitol Theatre’ and ‘Theatre Royal’
Album of over 130 photographs and postcards of vaudeville and music
hall acts that appeared in Dublin during the 1930’s and 40’s, of which
over 100 are signed and inscribed to Jimmy (Davenport). Jimmy
Davenport was a Dublin musician and assistant band leader associated
with the Capitol Theatre and the Theatre Royal during the 1930’s
(Capitol Theatre). Amongst the signatures of actors, musicians, band-
leaders, singers, dancers, comedians, acrobats ventriloquists, etc., are: Les
Allen, Peg-Leg Bates, Cookie Bowers, Carl Brisson, Big Bill Campbell,

A silver plated plate hallmarked London 1968 made by William Comyns
& Sons. With red enamel heart to centre and engraved “Presented to
Hughie Green and Opportunity Knocks, by the Manchester Regional
Committee of the Variety Club of Great Britain 1968” and used as an
award piece for the winners of the programme until 1977 including
Bobby Crush, Neil Reid, Lena Zavaroni, Millican & Nesbitt etc. (16oz)
