1936 (6-14 May) mail carried on the Hindenburg Zeppelin airship to Dublin.

Cover with USA 45c in stamps, postmarked New York, 11 May and bearing the commemorative airship’s cachet,

Frankfurt Zeppelin machine cancel of 14 May on reverse, addressed to Dublin SW9. Also with this lot a cover

from Sweden carried on the Hindenburg to New York. Attractive and scarce covers carried on the ill-fated

Hindenburg airship.

An attractive matching set of 12 stamped envelopes for various stages of the first transatlantic airmail from Canada

to Ireland and Britain, via seaplane from Shediac to Foynes. Also with this lot 9 stampless covers 1848-1866,

mainly Canadian postmarks including paids such as 3d, 3, 10, PAID 3, etc.
