Seamus Heaney, Door Into The Dark,

1969, London, Faber and Faber, first UK edition. 8vo,

boxed in custom-made slip-case, title etc, in gilt on spine.

Door into the Dark follows the land of Death of a

Naturalist whereby the poet graphically depicts his rural

upbringing in Northern Ireland. Though his sensuous use

of language, Heaney continues to carve along the same

startling groove as marked out in his first collection also

hinting at the future projects, such as “Wintering Out”, a

hallmark of his early writings. Scarce.

Estimate €200-€300 (£170-£260)
