Born in 1940 in County Down, Joseph Sloan is a self-taught sculptor. His
transition from working in theatre to sculpting allowed the artist to make
personal impressions of humankind, exploring the figurative image
bordering on abstraction in various themes including music and dance.
Sloan’s work is included in private as well as public collections such as
Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and The National Concert Hall.
