Shropshire Light Infantry who was based in Fermoy during the War of
Independence. He relates how he was trying to get discharged from the
army and there are many interesting references to Fermoy, derogatory
remarks about local people, Shinners” etc. (120 letters, mostly in their
envelopes with stamps and postal markings)”
