book. Also a flyer for John Reed’s Under The Cremlin and
a manuscript poem on working people. (3)
John Reed was perhaps the best known left-wing
American journalist of the twentieth century; he was
portrayed by Warren Beatty in the film REDS, nominated
for twelve Academy Awards and winner of three, which
centered on Reed’s life, his romance with Louise Bryant,
and his early death at 33 in Moscow.

Frank Fay (1870–1931), brother of William Fay, was an actor and co-founder of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Ireland.
He worked with his brother, William, staging productions in halls around the city. Finally, they formedW. G. Fay’s Irish
National Dramatic Company, focused on the development of Irish acting talent.The brothers participated in the in
founding of the Abbey Theatre and were largely responsible for evolving the Abbey style of acting. After a falling-out
with the Abbey directors in 1908, they emigrated to the United States to work in theatre there. Fay died in 1931, the
year of Shaw’s contribution to the Frank Fay Fund.
