mined in Co. Galway. Numbered 0301 to rim. 2_oz troy (82g). Cased.

1918-2002: Sinead (Jenny) Mason’s autograph book including signed note by Michael Collins

The autograph book of Sinéad Mason, personal secretary of Michael Collins from April 1919 until his death in August

1922. This position allowed her to come into contact with many of the leading figures of the War of Independence

and her autograph book contains many of their signatures. Including a note in Irish and signature by Michael Collins,

signature of Eamon de Valera, an almost complete set of Anglo Irish Treaty plenipotentiary signatures signed at the

time of the Treaty negotiations, including Arthur Griffith, Eamon Duggan, Robert Barton, Erskine Childers. Some later

signatories, collected by her daughter Iosold O Deirg, include John Hume, Mary McAleese etc. A unique collection.

Sinead (Jenny”) Mason was Michael Collins’ secretary from 1919 until his death in 1922. She later married Tomas O

Deirg, Minister for Education in Fianna Fail governments from 1932 to 1946. With this lot is a large copy photograph

taken in 1918 shows a group including Jenny Mason as well as Michael Collins, Desmond Fitzgerald, etc.”
