George Shalders showed with the Royal Academy in London from 1848 to 1862. Glengarriff scenes were shown at the

RA twice, in 1854 (catalogue no. 275) and later in 1859 (catalogue no. 221). It is possible one of the present works is a

match for the latter; the artist’s address is recorded as 108 Tachbrook Street at this juncture in his career.
