1948 General Election poster for Labour

tagged “New Zealand” saying to the woman with a grey sheet tagged “Eire”, “I have no dirty linen dear, I

always use Labour!”. Published by the labour Party, 21, Molesworth Street, Dublin.

A reference to both the success of the Labour Party in New Zealand and that country’s support for Ireland

declaring itself a Republic.
