A green Connemara marble sculpture,’Trout’ was shown by the artist at the RHA in 1941 (no. 394). A
memorial exhibition of ten works took place in 1946 which included (no.29) ‘Leenan,Connemara - Trout
(green marble) Lent by artist Miss Kathleen Fox. Power worked in bronze, carved stone and marble. Among
his best-known works are a bust in bronze of Michael Collins and his statue of a Pikeman which stands in
the middle of Denny street in Tralee. A larger version of the present work dating to 1944 can be found in the
collection of the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin [Purchased, 1949, NGI.8090].
