Manuscript lease between Alfred Sotheren andWillam Dargan concerning a water supply for railway engines at Bray, signed by both parties and accompanied by hand drawn linen backed map (19 x 29 in.) showing the proposed pipe to supply the water to Bray station. Condition: Some areas of toning, mainly near the edges but overall a very good example of this famous print. Unissued with counterfoil. signed John O’Mahony in plate. Some faults but a rare high denomination. Condition: Toned all over, heavy folds, water stained at bottom, repaired with archival tape. Printed by Continental Bank Note Printing Company of New York. These bonds were issued in America to fund the Fenian Rising of 1867. They were redeemed almost eighty years later by the Irish Government. Any outstanding bonds were thereafter valued as collectibles.
