Inscribed to PC L Loughlin DMP. Laurence Loughlin was from Blessington, Co. Wicklow, joined the force in 1891, warrant number 9695, B Division. He died 8 December 1900, aged only 27. With copy of extract from the Register of the DMP. Condition: Extremely fine. (5) White metal, 30mm, bust left, VISIT OF H.M. QUEEN VICTORIA TO IRELAND, reverse TO COMMEMORATE IRISH VALOUR, Celtic swirls surround, issued to commemorate Irish regiments in the Boer War. Also enamel badges including Londonderry War Hospital, and three different Irish Guards pinbacks. Condition: Fine to very fine. P. McHugh R.I.C. , 1911 not inscribed as issued. McHugh was born in Leitrim in1854 and joined the RIC in 1872. He became DI 3rd class in 1896 and DI 1st Class in 1908, and retired in 1915. He participated in the putting down of demonstrations during the 1913 Lockout. Scarce pair to a senior officer. With research notes and several copies of newspaper reports concerning McHugh.
