Stamped Echeverria Herms Vitoria between the barrels. Condition: Very good, some light pitting, will clean up well. Provenance: Collection of Lieutenant Colonel Seán Clancy, Irish Free State Army, previously I.R.A.; Private collection; Whyte’s, 14 March, 2009, lot 1258 Clancy was a prominent participant in the 1922 Dublin Castle ceremony in which Britain handed power to the Irish Free State government. Clancy was a Fine Gael supporter and major fund raiser throughout his life. Clancy retired from the Army in 1959 having served since 1918 as a Volunteer, and 1922 as an officer in the regular defence forces..
