(17.8 by 11.4cm) Provenance: Thought to be the work of Lady Louisa FitzGerald Lyon (1798-1826), daughter of Lord Edward FitzGerald, Irish revolutionary killed in 1798. She was the wife of Captain George Lyon who travelled with Sir William Edward Parry on his Polar expeditions, or written by Mary Love, a Canadian; both attributions are without firm evidence. The ilustrations are derived from the illustrations by George Lyon published in Parry’s Journal Of A Second Voyage For The Discovery Of A North-WEst Passage. Condition: Quarter calf gilt, marbled boards, rubbed, bumped , stained, some pencil annotations and slight stains to some pages, otherwise very good.
