THE ECLECTIC COLLECTOR TIMED ON-LINE AUCTlON 6 APRIL 2025 73 130 1916 Rising Service Medal, 1919-21War of Independence Service Medal with Comrac bar, 1966 50th Anniversary of the Rising Medal and 1971 50 Anniversary of the Truce Medal all to Captain Michael Tannam Captain Tannam was Quarter master to the Third Battalion, Dublin Brigade, Irish Volunteers at Boland’s Mill under the command of Eamon de Valera. With a photograph of Captain Tannam, a letter signed by de Valera as President of the Executive of the Irish Free State in 1936 confirming his service in 1916, and a religious pilgrimage medal. Tannam also served as Quarter master to the 26th Battalion (old I.R.A) of the reserve forces in 1939-46 but his medal for that service is missing. A rare and interesting group for a senior officer of the Irish Volunteers. All medals in official boxes of issue and with uniform flashes. (7 items) Condition: Fine.
