Illuminated manuscript on vellum, framed. A leaf from the Book of
Hours, a devotional book popular in the Middle Ages. It was developed
for lay people who wished to incorporate elements of monasticism into
their devotional life. In double sided frame 6.75 x 4.75in. (17.15 x
12.07cm)

16th Century Spanish silver crucifix, possibly from an Armada ship,
found in Donegal
An extremely interesting silver crucifix probably dating from the last
quarter of the 16th Century. The metalwork suggesting an origin in
provincial Spain. Found on a beach during sand dredging near Killybegs
in the early 20th century. Warrants further research, a truly scarce item.

The second part of this scarce two volume history of the pirates
complete with engraved folding map and publisher’s advertisement at
rear. There is some dispute regarding the author of this book, however it
is believed to be Daniel Defoe.
