letter and photograph.

Photographic postcard of Jans Dunker, Stoker,

signed by him on reverse, picture postcard of Frie-

drich (Fred) Schmitz, Aud Signaller, in Prisoner

of War camp circa 1916, photograph circa 1968 of

Fred Schmitz, Jans Dunker and Willie Augustin,

Chief Petty Officer on the Aud, and a pp2 letter

dated 22 February 1968 from Willie Augustin, all

sent to a friend of theirs in Kerry, Tim O’ Malley.

1916-1919. An elaborate wood fretwork by

Signalman Friedrich Schmitz of the Aud, whilst

imprisoned in Stafford.

The delicate carving is of a man on horseback.

Accompanied by a copy photograph of Schmitz in

Stafford with another example of his work in the

background. An unusual and rare collectible as-

sociated with the attempted gunrunning by Roger

Casement.
