Eucharistic Congress badges, two An Tostal gilt metal harp-shaped pins,

a gilt and enamel badge in the form of the Shrine of St. Patrick’s Bell;

and a 1966 Padraig Pearse ten-shilling coin; together with a blood

A gilt metal and enamel badge surmounted by a crown, above Hibernia

seated over a pink scroll emblazoned “Council”, by Johnson Ltd., Dublin;

together with an Irish Scout badge; a 1957 Skal, International

Convention, Dublin badge; and a bronze Talbot Street School Choir 1909

Collection of Irish Shipping badges and insignia.

Irish Shipping Limited was an Irish state-owned deep-sea shipping

company, formed during World War II for the purpose of supplying the

country’s import needs. The company was liquidated in 1984. (9)

1949 - 1967 Butlin’s, Mosney badges

A collection of 84 metal and enamel Butlins Ireland badges. The most

comprehensive collection we have seen, including many rare types.

Billy Butlin opened his Irish camp at Mosney, Co. Meath in 1948. Butlin’s

sold the camp as a going concern to an Irish business in 1983, which

continued to run it as a holiday camp until, in 1995, it became an

accommodation centre for asylum seekers.

London Carmen’s Trades Union ceremonial sash.

Black velvet sash with silver bullion braid and tassels, inscribed to “Bro

W. Beggs by the Bros as a mark of Respect for his past services rendered

to No. 34 Branch. A similar sash is held in Transport for London Museum.

1916 Rising Service Medal and 1919-21 War of Independence Service

Medal with Comrac clasp and 1935 Armband

Awarded to John Faulkner of Capel Street, Dublin who served in the

Dublin Brigade. With a copy of Volunteer Faulkner’s 1937 Award

Certificate giving him a Military Service Pension.

Provenance: By descent from the recipient to the present owner.

In their boxes of issue, some scuffing; medals and armband extremely

fine.
