1921 (January to September) collection of envelopes to and from an Irish Volunteer prisoner at Arbour

Hill and Ballykinlar.

Prisoner is Patrick O’Loughlin of Kevin Street, Dublin. Includes 3 registered envelopes to him at Ballykinlar,

which originally contained postal orders, a letter from Arbour Hill to his mother - “We are off tonight - des-

tination unknown”, two envelopes with BALLYKINLAR CAMP postmarks, a postcard from another prison-

er at Ballykinlar with IRISH PRODUCTS LEAGUE - BUY IRISH GOODS handstamp, and 7 envelopes to

O’Loughlin at his home address, one with a telegram. (14)

A larger correspondence (20 letters) to and from the same prisoner was sold at Whyte’s, 9 March 2014, as lot

279 fo €620.
