Padraig Pearse. Rare original photograph in

New York 1914.

Vintage Contact Print. Rockwood Photo Studio,

New York City, 1914.

This can be considered a rare original print -

printed circa 1914 - 1916. The portrait of Pearse

was taken in 1914 at the the famed portrait stu-

dios of Rockwell in New York City during a fund

raising trip for St. Enda’s. This is a contact print

struck from the original negative - the image is

very sharp, unlike the softness associated with his

image in the copy prints, and is thus rare and very

useful for making enlarged scans.

5½ x 4in. (13.97 x 10.16cm)

Estimate €500-€700 £390-£546
