1914 Joseph Plunkett, Scribbling Diary and
Memorandum Book.
The fly-leaf inscribed in pencil in Plunkett’s hand
with a list of the “Members of the Provisional
Committee of the Irish Volunteers”, otherwise the
diary virtually unused, entry on 2 January, “No
person resolves to keep on doing things. All reso-
lutions are revolutions. (The Living Sword)” and
“Univ. Press. Paper for Pearse’s book - Announce-
ment of same.”

“Ghosts of My Friends””
A novelty autograph album, signed “Joseph Mc
Pluingcead” in pencil and with an in memoriam
card pasted to the fly-leaf. Containing 73 signa-
tures folded to produce an ink -blot “ghost”. Sig-
natures include Joseph Plunkett, his father Count
Plunkett, and his siblings Philomena, Fiona, Geral-
dine, John and Philomena.

The album containing 73 signatures folded to produce an ink -blot “ghost”. Signatures include Joseph Plun-
kett and his siblings Moya, Fiona, John, Gerry and Philomena; Violet Russell (wife of George, AE) and Stasko
Markievicz, stepson of Constance. A fascinating insight into nationalist society in Edwardian Dublin, as well
as an example of the popularity of spirituality and the occult.
