Early 20th century Royal Navy officer’s sword.

A Royal Naval officer’s sword, retailed by Gieve, Matthew and Seagrove, Portsmouth, the 31½in blade

etched with rope and oakleaf designs, crowned fouled anchor and the Royal Arms, regulation copper

hilt incorporating a crowned fouled anchor, lion’s head pommel, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in

its engraved brass mounted leather scabbard. Sword length

37in. (94cm)

Midshipman’s Dirk

A Royal Navy Midshipman’s dirk, the straight single edged blade, etched with crowned fouled anchor

and foliate scrolls, the brass hilt with the shallow S-shaped crossguard with acorn finials, the chappe

with a fouled anchor beneath a lion`s head pommel & wire bound fishskin covered grip, in its brass

mounted leather sheath. Total length of dirk

1898 Victorian Royal Engineers officer’s sword.

An 1897 pattern Wilkinson sword, numbered 35621 for 1898, the blade etched with the regimental

badge of the Royal Engineers, the three-quarters basket hilt with Victorian cypher. In dress scabbard

and full leather frog.
